SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT
Sick
An appointment may be made by calling our office
at (972) 548-0758 during office hours. We prefer
to see patients by appointment and will do our
best to schedule an appointment for you. In case
of an emergency, walk in’s are welcome,
however please understand that families who have a
scheduled appointment will have first priority
and we will work you in if our schedule permits. Scheduling
your appointment the day the service is needed
or scheduling in advance helps to reduce our patients'
wait time. Please extend us the courtesy of at
least 24 hours notice if you must cancel or reschedule
your appointment. A sick child who may be in need
of an appointment during that time slot will be
grateful for your thoughtfulness.
Well
An appointment may be made by calling our office
at (972) 548-0758. We see children Monday through Friday for
well exams. In the summer, our well exams slots
fill quickly, so please plan accordingly. If you
need to cancel, please be kind and call as soon
as you can so another child can have their well
exam time.
New patient
We encourage new patients to arrive 15 minutes
before their appointment time to complete paperwork. New patients may download the required
new patient forms and fax them
(972-548-0425) with a copy of the front and back
of their insurance card.
Well visits
Well visits are a vital part of keeping your child
healthy. During these visits we will provide a
comprehensive physical exam, address any
current or former concerns, evaluate the growth
and development of your child, and provide any
needed vaccinations.
Preventive care
We believe preventive care is important and encourage our patients
to make it a part of their plan to stay healthy.
Two or more children
If you schedule an appointment for one child and
have concerns to address with the provider, please
note that we may charge for an office visit for
the second child.
Telephone/Triage nurse
A nurse is available by phone during normal hours
of operation to answer any questions you may have.
The nurse will help provide an assessment as to
how quickly your child should be seen in the office
or if something can be done to make your child
more comfortable. Our nurses use standard protocols
to help with their assessments. Only during an
in office visit with a physician or a nurse practitioner
can we make a diagnosis.
If you are calling our nurse to help you with
a medical concern, please note that calls received
by 11:00 a.m. will be returned that morning and calls
received between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. will be answered
that afternoon. If a call is received after 4:00 p.m.,
it will be answered that evening. Remember,
if your situation is an emergency call
911 immediately.
